Nothing here is a promise. Reviews are one of several things that decide who shows up first.

In our experience, more good reviews usually goes with a higher spot.

What works

  1. Ask every customer. Not just the ones you think will say yes.
  2. Ask soon. Right after the job, while it is fresh in their mind.
  3. Send a direct link. One tap should open the review box.
  4. Send it by text. It reaches them on their phone.
  5. Follow up once or twice. A kind reminder helps. Then stop.
  6. Reply to every review. Say thanks. Stay calm on a bad one. People read your replies.
  7. Never pay for reviews. See Google’s rules below.

Questions about getting Google reviews.

How many reviews do I need?
There is no magic number. A steady flow of new, honest reviews helps more than a few old ones.
Can I ask only some of my customers?
Don’t pick only the happy ones. Google’s rules do not allow selectively asking for positive reviews.
What do I do about a bad review?
Reply calmly and say how you will help. Do not argue.
